Empowering Edmonton's Arts
In a time when Edmonton's vibrant arts scene is challenged by rising costs, funding uncertainties, and audience hesitance, this initiative presents an opportunity for students to understand the intricacies of YEG’s cultural landscape. Students will conduct an analysis of Edmonton's current arts ecosystem, benchmark against successful models in other cities around the world, engage directly with the community, students will formulate actionable strategies to boost the YEG arts ecosystem. This initiative not only encourages creative problem-solving but also aims to create a digital portfolio for the students to showcases their work. Let’s empower the arts community—because a thriving cultural environment is essential for Edmonton's growth and sustainability!

Budget Smart Marketing Ideas For Art Exhibitions (BA33)
To attract a crowd to an art exhibition on a budget, use a mix of strategic discounts and combo offers. Early bird, group, and family discounts can drive ticket sales, while student/senior rates and bring-a-friend deals make attendance affordable. Partnering with local businesses for combo offers and offering VIP add-ons can enhance the experience. A “pay what you can” day and social media promotions can expand reach cost-effectively. Loyalty rewards, themed specials, and collaborations with local artists or influencers boost interest. Free entry for volunteers and workshop bundles provide extra value, making the exhibition more engaging while staying within budget.
Safe and Inclusive Arts: Empowering Women in Edmonton's Arts Ecosystem (BA33)
Our project aims to enhance safety and inclusivity for women by addressing the unique challenges they face when attending arts events. By improving safety protocols and increasing female representation in key roles, the city’s arts community will become a place where women feel valued, respected, and, most importantly, safe. This will increase participation, create a more vibrant arts scene, and give all community members a greater sense of belonging.
